Menstruation Foundation

Menstruation Foundation and O – Graceland are working on ending period poverty through the provision of free locally made eco-friendly pads for girls and young women through the installation of pads vending machine.

To date the AVI Community Investment Trust has donated six machines at six different high schools in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape. The support continues as funding goes towards restocking the machines with a year’s supply of sanitary pads, this will ensure that the machines are fully stocked on a monthly basis.

Red Cross Children’s Hospital

The Children’s Hospital Trust is an independent non-profit organisation established in 1994 to raise funds to support specific projects and programmes to help advance child healthcare through the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital

For the period the AVI Community Trust contributed towards the Emergency Centre upgrade and expansion at Red Cross Children’s Hospital. The Emergency Centre is the only dedicated children’s emergency unit in South Africa. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the primary function of this area is to provide high quality, evidence based medical, surgical, nursing and paramedical services to the thousands of children needing access to emergency and acute services. A child and user-friendly environment is critical to maintaining the high standard of care needed to minimise hospitalisation and facilitate the child’s early return to their family.
