Michaelhouse Community Partnerships Trust was founded in 2000 and seeks to meaningfully invest in local public schools. The Trust partners with 18 public schools located between Lions River and Mooi River in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, to improve education and to offer teacher development through training and mentorship.
A key project that benefits from the AVI Community Investment Trust funding is the Edu-helpers programme. A group of 6 Edu-helpers who are passionate, qualified or qualifying teachers were recruited to teach, tutor, coach a sport or assist with any development programmes required to support the school where they are placed as well as the surrounding community.
